Chili Cheese Fry Burger

It's the last day of National Burger Month and Grillocracy is celebrating with a flavor packed chili cheese fry burger!

CHILI CHEESE FRY BURGER

Ingredients

1-1/2 lbs. ground beef (preferably and 80/20 blend)

Kosher salt and ground black pepper

1 (15oz.) can of your favorite chili

1 (22oz.) bag of regular or sweet potato waffle fries, cooked according to instructions

2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted

Instructions

Fire up a full chimney of Original Kingsford® Charcoal, or light a pile of about 100 briquets. Configure the coals for a two-zone fire, placing the briquets on one half of the charcoal grate to create a hot zone for grilling and a cool zone for moving the burgers during flare-ups. Adjust the bottom grill vents for medium-high heat cooking, approximately 400-425 degrees.

Form ground beef in to four burger patties and season liberally with salt and pepper.  Grill burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees.

As the burgers cook, place chili in a small saucepan. Set saucepan on the grill and allow the chili to cook for approximately 5 minutes until warmed through.  Place one burger patty on each bottom bun, top with waffle fries, chili, and cheese.  Add the top bun and serve immediately.
