Making your own barbecue sauce is great but the process of perfecting it can be timely and costly as you try to find just the right blend of ingredients.
Instead, I often turn to bottled sauces as a base for signature sauces, adding a few ingredients to truly make it my own including this recipe for Asian barbecue sauce.
ASIAN FUSION BARBECUE SAUCE
1 18oz bottle of KC Masterpiece Honey Barbecue Sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp. mirin rice wine
½ tbsp. ginger powder
Prepare grill for medium heat and preheat a small saucepan. Add the barbecue sauce and remaining ingredients to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring periodically to fully incorporate the flavors in to the sauce. Serve immediately with your favorite grilled or barbecued meats and vegetables.
