This is na-cho ordinary burger, taking the crunch and cheese of nachos and merging them with a perfectly grilled beef burger.
It all starts with a grilled patty that has been kicked up with taco seasoning, followed by a layer of tortilla chips and cheese, some spicy salsa, more cheese, and a blast of grilled guacamole, all of which is sandwiched between a lightly toasted hamburger bun! But the best part about this super-sized burger is that anything that might fall out can be scooped up with extra tortilla chips.
THE GRILLED NACHO BURGER
1.5 lbs. ground beef, preferably an 80/20 meat-to-fat ratio
1 oz. packet taco seasoning
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
Grilled guacamole (you can find the recipe here)
1 cup of your favorite salsa
4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted
Prepare grill for high heat cooking.
Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season liberally on both sides with taco seasoning. Place patties on the grill and cook for approximately 4-5 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees for medium. Remove the burger patties from the grill. Assemble burgers by placing 3-5 tortilla chips on each bottom bun, top chips with a slice of cheese, add the burger patty, salsa, a second slice of cheese, grilled guacamole, another 3-5 tortilla chips, and the top bun. Enjoy!
